MY REVIEW:

This book continues the saga of the Crown brothers and their quest to find the truth. And to find the people that harmed them and their family. Throughout the whole series the brothers are trying to find who is trying to harm them and their women and this book is no different. This book is also the last book in this series and is suppose to wrap the series up.

Hayley and Matthew meet and hit it off right away, then a misunderstanding takes place and Matthew is blaming Hayley for something she didn’t do. Which is right up my alley for the books I like. So far so good. Then he finds out who her father is and really thinks that she is everything he thought she was.

So now he’s on a mission to prove that she’s the one that is helping the people that are coming after his family. And Hayley is just a really naïve girl that is doing all that she can to get away from her so called father, she finally has found something she can do and save up to eventually get away from him which is her clothing store.

I really wanted to like this book but I just kept feeling like it wasn’t for me, at first the age gap was fine but then it started to feel weird and I didn’t really like it anymore. Then the whole part where her dad being in the apartment the same time as Hayley and Matthew just really didn’t do it for me. Something similar happened in the previous book with the heroine’s brother and it was so not for me.

I didn’t love this book, but I also didn’t hate it, I think books 2 and 3 were my favorite of this series, I have yet to read book number 1, it’s on my TBR. I just felt like the story could have been told better about the family and what was going on. I understand that each book had to tell more of the story but it just didn’t flow well for me. I have read other series where the full story takes place over several books and it was well done, to me this could have been done a little bit better.

One other thing that kind of bugged me was that each of the heroine’s from each book never had any goals of their own and if they did they were forgotten once they got with the Hero’s. After getting with the Hero’s the women’s only goals were to get married and have babies. And if that’s what they wanted to do that’s completely fine if that’s what they wanted but it seemed like they didn’t really have a choice.

Overall it was an ok book and wrapped up the series. I’m happy we have a conclusion to the story. But I didn’t love this story.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

Writing about yourself is hard. Writing about yourself in the third person is even harder.

Instead of giving myself all kinds of accolades and touting my writing prowess (or lack thereof), I’ll just share some of the bits that make me who I am. Sound good? Good.

Reading has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, my mother would walk into my room well into the wee hours of the morning only to have to tell me to put my books away and sleep.

If you’re a bibliophile like me, I’m sure you can relate.

I never stopped reading nor did my love for it diminish. As time passed, my reading tastes evolved and I found myself devouring romance novels left and right (find me on Goodreads). So naturally, when I found myself unfulfilled with my learned profession, I turned to writing the books I loved to read.

It started as a hobby but with my husband’s encouragement, it grew into what it is today, the start of my new, and very much loved career.

I hope that my story serves as an inspiration and that regardless of where you are in life, you are able to follow your dreams and give yourself your very own happily ever after.

With Love,

Eleanor Aldrick
