MY REVIEW:

*** I received an advance review copy for my honest review. ***

Oh this one hit my right in the heart, when I read Beck and Addie’s I saw glimpses of Shiloh but that was it. We knew her story and how the rest of her family was affected but we didn’t have her feelings.

This book lets us know exactly what Shiloh’s been through and how much her family has kept her in a cage. No purposely but because they were so scared to lose her again that they kept her confined.

“My body longed to run. Wanted to put distance between myself and his rage. But I forced my feet to remain planted. I was done running. I’d used it to cope for too long. I was free, but I had to fight to defend that freedom.”

Wanting to know all of her whereabouts and  constantly asking her questions about where she’s going and what she’s doing. She doesn’t have a moment to breathe or get away from the fear.

Her family has unconsciously kept her in the fear of what happened to her because they were too scared to let go. This has put Shiloh in a corner and she can’t get out.

Ramsey is a recluse and has reason to be because of his past. Everyone looks at him like he’s a bad guy and he honestly doesn’t care and keeps everyone extremely far away.

“Sometimes, we need to break the rules to get to where we’re supposed to be.”

He likes his space and doesn’t like anyone too close, he’s learned the hard way not to trust anyone. Especially the authorities after what happened to him.

“The way you moon over her is a little pathetic.” Kai barked, and I swore he was saying: “Like you’re any better.”

Ramsey is patient and kinder than he gives off, he does his best to help animals and people whenever he can no matter the cost to him.

Ramsey wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in close. “I’ll cook for you any time you want.” “Careful, I could get used to that kind of treatment.” “I want you to get used to it.”

I loved Ramsey from the beginning but all the things he did just made me love him even more!

She looked harder at Ramsey as if trying to see beneath the surface to whatever was below. “And you’re helping Aunt Shy heal, too.”

But Ramsey and Shiloh have formed a connection and he helps her become independent. Something she so desperately needs.

“Sometimes, it scares me how much I like having you close.”

My hands went to her face, cupping her cheeks. “I could never regret you. Even when it hurts, I want to feel that pain because you make me remember that I’m alive.”

I absolutely loved Ramsey and Shiloh together, under Ramsey’s gruffness holds a gentle heart. He doesn’t like people but he starts letting people in to help them and this is the sweetest thing.

“That’s the best we can hope for. Making each other better, giving each other a safe place to land.”

I sifted my fingers through the strands. So damn soft, but thick and strong, too. That juxtaposition was so like the man: hard but gentle. Fierce yet kind.

Shiloh and Ramsey started to heal each other and help one another in ways that they never realized they needed to heal.

I loved the way Shiloh started to find a way back to herself and her family, this way so beautiful to see. It was so hard for her to connect with her family but starting to heal helped her.

And of course I loved her family! They snuck under Ramsay’s guard so quick and easily. He wanted no one in his property and ended up with the whole Easton clan on his property and he ended up liking it.

I loved everything about this book, the character were amazing together and complimented each other. It gave me all the feels and angst that I love in books.
