THE DOM IDENTITY | BY LEXI BLAKE

MY REVIEW:

Michael has been around for some time now and I always really enjoyed his parts in the previous books. But Michael always seemed colder than the other characters like he was a bit closed off.

And this was weird to me since he had a twin, but I guess it makes sense because Michael was in the Military and former CIA. He’s never really formed romantic connections even though he was engaged.

The engagement was one of convenience for both parties and then they decided to mutually end it. Michael knows love is not for him. So Michael is tasked with training Vanessa and thinks it’ll be a piece of cake.

What he’s not expecting is to fall for her or even be remotely moved by her.

Vanessa is a former actress that makes no apologies for her former mistakes or her opinions on things.

“Mistakes were how a person learned, and the person who never made mistakes would be hollow indeed because they would never learn empathy.”

When her sister dies she returns home to find out what really happened to her sister and the only way to do that is to take on a Dom, which is Michael.

She’s not really thinking anything of the relationship, she just wants information, what she doesn’t expect is to like the brand of Dominance that Michael dishes out.

Vanessa and Michael start to realize that maybe they just never met the right people before because they start to fall for each other and bond with each other in a way that they haven’t done before.

“Operative walks in, thinks he’s the big man and the bad girl will give up all her secrets because his dick is so special. But let me tell you, special dick always gives it up for a magical pussy. Or that one asshole that fits perfectly for my gay brothers. Or when the scissoring works just right between two chicks. Gay, straight, bi, it’s all the same. Suddenly big bad operative is all The bad girl isn’t so bad and if she did something wrong, my penis will fix it.”

But Michael betray Vanessa’s trust and she’s so hurt by it, she’s had to deal with people hurting her and betraying her so much in her career, but she can’t believe Michael would hurt her.

“We have to understand that men are not as intelligent as we are. They’re missing a chromosome and it shows.”

I always enjoy how Ms. Blake can write a good story.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

I enjoyed these two a lot more than I thought I would.  Vanessa is so different from the rest of Ms. Blake’s characters that I wasn’t expecting it.

But it was great! I love the way that Lexi Blake can write different characters and still make you fall in love with them.

These two were explosive together, but that wasn’t all they were really compatible and worked well together, I really enjoyed reading this book.

And as all of Lexi Blake’s previous books there’s that one character that she gives us a glimpse of but doesn’t give us the story right away. The one she makes us wait for. Kyle is the one I’m waiting for, I need to know what happened to him.
