MY REVIEW:

Zoey is the human that lives in the paranormal world, her and Daniel grew up together and were in love with each other for their entire lives. So when Daniel dies in a car accident lets just say it was really traumatic for Zoey. But he came back as a vampire, problem solved right? Wrong.

“It’s a little like ripping off a bandage, I think. After many years of considering it, I think we all fall into one of two categories. We either pull it off, slowly, trying to process each moment, terrified of the agony but drawing it out in the process. Or we rip it off because we can no longer stand the idea of the pain and think the sooner we get through it, the better. But in the end, the pain is all the same. Aching. Never-ending.”

This bring a whole new set of problems, Daniel has to leave to be trained how to be a vampire and leaves Zoey alone with no clue of if he’s even alive anymore. Fast forward 5 years and Daniel is as distant with Zoey as ever. He helps her with her thieving excursions but doesn’t have a relationship with her otherwise. 

This was heartbreaking to see especially because Zoey is still as in love with him as she ever was. But she’s starting to realize that she may have to move on insert Devinshea Quinn. A faery prince that owns the hottest supernatural club around.

As much as Zoey likes Devinshea she still can’t stop thinking about Daniel. So at this point I am totally against Devinshea. I’m team Daniel all the way.

“Daniel Donovan is the single most powerful vampire to rise in the last thousand years.”

Zoey and her crew get a job with a Demon Halfer and realizes that she’s messed up but has no choice but to move ahead and steal the agreed upon item. This of course turns into chaos and Daniel and Zoey are thrown together.

“I had made a deal with the devil, and the bastard stuck me with the bill.”

Just when you think there’s no hope for Daniel and Zoey we get a little taste, of course this doesn’t last as long as I would have like before things go south again.

“Do you have any idea what you look like to me now? You’re so fucking bright. I want your light. I want it so bad. I want to take you, and I want to feed, Zoey. I want to drink until I have my fill, and then I want to fuck you, sweetheart. I want to fuck you so long and so hard you’ll forget that there was a time I wasn’t inside you. I want to possess you. I want to bend you to my will until you’ll do anything I ask. Until you’ll die for me.”

So what does Zoey do? Go running to Devinshea of course 🙄. Like that wasn’t totally predictable. Like I said I’m a little salty because this wasn’t not the outcome I wanted.

What can I say I fell in love with Daniel and I thought Devinshea was a homewrecker. 

Zoey has to work her ass off to get the job done whether she likes it or not. She also comes across so many obstacles that try to stop her but her soul is on the line so she has no choice but to figure it out and get it done, with the help of her crew of course.

“I hate you sometimes, Zoey,” Daniel said sullenly as he struggled to his feet. “I’m tired. I want to die. I can see the light, but does Zoey Wharton let me walk into the light? Hell, no. She has to go and find a tiger to piss off.”

I was not happy with the way the book ended but then I realized that it continues in another book and I needed more immediately!

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

Going into this series I had no idea what to expect, I had tried one paranormal book prior to this and it didn’t really leave me with a good feeling.

So I was nervous, but I read all of Lexi Blake’s book and loved her writing so I thought why not give this book a try hey if I didn’t like it was just one book right?

I also am not the biggest fan of the first person style especially when its only one character. Lol no pressure.

So I started reading also not really realizing that this wasn’t a stand alone, the books were a continuation of the first book.

Let me tell you I was blown away I couldn’t believe what I was reading, this was pure magic and I needed more! I continued on to the next one and the one after that, I devoured this series.

I would definitely recommend this series! This has become one of my favorite series.
