MY REVIEW:

*** I received an advance review copy for my honest review. ***

This book takes place after the first book in this series and it’s about Rose, the second sister in the triad. All of her life she was being trained to be the Prima Apparent, because she was the most powerful witch in her triad.

Violet from Not The With You Wed, was the oldest sister but her powers were dormant for a long time. She didn’t think she had the power to be the Prima Apparent, which we learned with not true in her book.

“We’re not leaving you! Witches who ride together, die together.”

Now that Rose is released from her duties she’s not really sure what to do with herself. So she’s trying to find herself and she what she’s good at. Rose is also trying to not be as rigid as she was.

“Attempted horse theft. Horse-napping? Horse thievery? I don’t know what the hell to call it. She said something about Operation Equine Freedom and I was too damn afraid to ask.”

It was every night, so frequently that Harper was half-convinced she was having a secret affair—or had a membership to a pleasure club. According to the succubus, that’s how soaked in pheromones she’d become. Or to quote the sex demon verbatim, “You’re extra horny lately, Rose.”

Damien is a half demon that was on the wrong track and was deep into the wrong path that he was hexed by his ex girlfriend. Then he decided he needed to change his lifestyle and became a veterinarian.

He has completely turned his life around and trying to stay away from the dark side. He’s doing good for himself but isn’t trying to have a relationship due to his hex.

While all of this is going on we also have the triads relationship with each other.

And the relationship between the sisters are amazing and so worth it!

When they connect it’s a good time and they don’t see each other again until she has to do community service at Damien’s animal shelter.

He’s the grump to her sunshine. He’s constantly grumpy while she’s always sunshine and trying to be the best.

Rose followed his gaze to Damian, and shrugged. “He may have the personality of a soggy potato, but he’s honestly not bad once you get to know him. He grows on you. Like super fungus.”

I loved the push and pull between the characters and they way that Damien knew he was getting in too deep but kept going and the fact that Rose was trying not to fall but she ended up falling anyways.

“Didn’t I mention that I’m on a hiatus from doing things I should do?” Rose asked, her voice breathless and sexy as hell. “Right now, I’m focusing on things I want to do . . . and right now, Damian Adams, I want to do you.”

I also really enjoyed the slow burn between the characters, while they were getting to know each other. The character development was the best. I love when characters are developed and you get to see them grow and be the better versions of themselves.

Olive studied them both a few seconds longer before nodding for them both to follow. “Stay back, stay quiet, and for the love of Goddess, don’t interfere. Gran isn’t the only one with the ability to give cross-continental ass-blasts.”

I absolutely love this book, not gonna like Not The Witch You Wed was my favorite so far but this was a great second addition. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This was another great one for me by Ms. Asher. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Olivia and Bax have been building since the first book in this series and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Asher does with this story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

April Asher, aka April Hunt, was hooked on romantic stories from the time she first snuck a bodice-ripper romance out from her mom’s bedside table. She now lives out her own happily-ever-after with her college-sweetheart husband, their two children, and a cat who thinks she’s more dog—and human—than feline. By day, April dons dark blue nursing scrubs and drinks way too much caffeine. By night, she still consumes too much caffeine, but she does it with a laptop in hand, and from her favorite side of the couch.

From the far left cushion, April Asher pens laugh-out-loud romantic comedies with a paranormal twist, but when she’s not putting her characters into embarrassing situations with supernatural entities, she also writes high-octane romantic suspense as April Hunt, her thrill-seeking alter ego.
